Introduction:-

Eucalyptus Clone It is small sized to fast growing plant and it  attains a height of about 30 to 45 Mts and about 1.75 feet in girth. The tree has about 320 species the tree is also called as gum tree, Nilgiri tree, Safeda tree and is cultivated commercial for wood and its medicinal properties, besides grown for wood and its medicinal properties the oil extracted from its leaves has a great therapeutic value and is in great demand commercially. It is used in manufacturing soap, insect repellent, treating cough and cold etc.

Climatic Requirement:-

Eucalyptus Clone flourishes in vide variety of climate and can withstand extremes of temperature around 47 degrees Celsius The tree can be grown at an altitude of 2000 to 2200 Mts and in areas receiving rainfall between 40 to 40 Cms. It is extremely drought resistant so it is a preferred source of earning in area that are drought prone.

Soil Requirement:-

Eucalyptus Clone grows well in deep rich and well drained loamy soil with sufficient moisture and PH ranging between 6 to 7.5. Its growth is restricted in saline and highly alkaline soil that is sandy.

Yield on Harvesting:-

The yield of Eucalyptus Clone on becoming a tree will depend on the plant density and maintenance of the farm and soil condition. With a 2.0 Mts x 2.0 Mts spacing  an average yield of 80 to 90 tonnes can be expected per hectare in around 8 years can be expected, whereas with a spacing of 1 Mts x 1 Mts spacing an yield of 25 tonnes can be expected per hectare in four years.
