Introduction:-

It is called as the king of timbers and its scientific name if Tectona Grandis. It grows as a very huge tree and provide excellent quality of wood which is mainly used in manufacturing furnitures.Teak Plants are being grown on commercial scale as it has huge potential for safe investment which can be earned over a period of time. Each teak tree yields about 10 to 17 Cuft of wood over 12 to 17 year’s time the yield can be many fold if the trees are kept for more than 20 years. The main tree trunk grows to a height of 25 to 30 feet and the girth of the trunk achieves a diameter of about 35 to 45 inches depending upon the agro climatic condition of the place and maintenance. About 450 teak plants can be grown in one acre of farm land which may be increased or decreased by adopting different spacing strategies to suit the commercial farmer.

Climatic Requirement:-

Tissue Cultured Teak Plant flourishes in moist warm tropical climate but can withstand extreme of temperatures, however it grows well in a maximum temperature ranging between 39 to 44 degree celsius and minimum temperature 13 to 18 degree Celsius. It requires a rainfall between 1200 to 2500 mm and a high light intensity for proper growth.

Soil Requirement:-
